You might want to check out some of the new stents that just got FDA approval at 4mm made from titanium this week. & has one of them. It shows promising stuff... but it might be a new option for those bile ducts?

One of the transplant surgeons came in to talk to us a couple of days ago. He told us that Dr McKenna was too close to the situation, so he was going to be the one to tell us...... Ken has asked me to 'tell you the truth'. He hopes by the telling of his story, someone, somewhere might benefit from it. The transplant team has made it's decision and Ken will not be getting another transplant - there just aren't any unclogged vessels to connect to. They also will not be doing the hepatic artery bypass. They believe the risk of surgery is too high, however, they think they can improve the blood flow into his liver by trying to open the clot in that artery, so they will use a balloon catheter and insert a stent. Monday they will do another biopsy, and if the rejection is under control, they will scheldue another angiogram. As you can imagine, we hoped for a more complete an

d long-lasting solution, but this is what we have to accept and deal with.
