After a few more weeks, if you aren’t going to have any further testing, they will probably switch you to Coumadin. The only reason they use Lovenox is because it leaves your body so fast. So if they want to do a test, they simply say “stop” and you’re good to go. Coumadin takes about a week to leave the body. Drives us crazy (right Ken?) he’s had more INR tests than anyone can count. We even looked for an at home INR tester! Too pricey, although driving 30 minutes each way at today’s gas prices isn’t much better!
