Guest guest
Marie- Thanks so much for providing a link to that fascinating article on research and prayer. I actually found it to be good news and quite encouraging, especially further down in the article, where it states that after 9/11, several patients dropped out of the study; so the research team amended the study on prayer and " touch therapy, " adding a second-tier prayer groups. (The second tier prayed for those PRAYING for the patients. Researchers wanted to simulate a higher dose of prayer for patients left in the study.) Turns out those patients treated with the " two-tiered " prayers had " six-month death and re-hospitalization rates that were about 30 percent lower than the control patients; statisticfally characterized as a suggestive trend. " The lead author of the study, Krukoff, M.D., summarized: " While it's clear there was no measurable impact on the primary composite endpoints of this study, the trends and behavior of pre-specified secondary outcome measures suggest treatment effects that can be taken pretty seriously when considering future study directions. " Along those lines, I recently read a book titled Six Prayers God Always Answers (Schuchmann and Herringshaw), where I found this great quote: " Prayer doesn't work, God works. " Amen sistahs and bruthas.
