Guest guest
Just a quick note, 'cause I'm getting ready to head out for a Rituxin treatment: Mono is a pain, but you may be glad in the future that you got it now. I never had it before transplant, and that's why I'm having this Rituxin treatment. If you get mono after transplant, when you're immune suppressed, it often leads to PTLD (a form of lymphoma). That's what happened to me, and it has been 3 months since I got sick, and I'm just finally starting to feel better! I still don't know if the Rituxin is working, and this has a pretty high mortality rate, so it's definitely not something you want! So even as you feel crummy from the mono, encourage yourself with the thought that you won't have even worse problems from it in the future! athan
