Guest guest
Pudenal neuralgia and levator ani syndrome are two different diagnoses. Levator ani syndrome is just another name for saying the pelvic floor muscles are spasming (found this out just recently from an article highlighted in one of the health magazines that was put in as part of an ad for a urogynecologist here in my hometown). A syndrome is just a group of symptoms like with fibromyalgia (just giving an example) and one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia can be muscle spasm including in the pelvic area. Pudenal neuralgia just means that you have pain in the pudenal nerve, but in order to find out if the pudenal nerve is damaged from the point of electrical testing the tech that does the EMG must stick an electrode in the vagina at the base of the clitoris and then another one on the head. This is how they determine if the pudenal nerve is working or not (found this out from the EMG tech I talked to in the Spring).
