I only have a couple of minutes to try and give you some information on Phil. I just drove in to Orlando to bring our daughters home they start school tomorrow. I will be returning to Miami tomorrow afternoon after a few errands here. I left Phil with his mother who is here from New York giving me a hand with him. This was so fast, but I have to tell you I'm so happy that things turned out the way they did. I know our prayers were heard. He is doing great. He was in surgery for 13 hours and according to his transplant team everything went smoothly. He only needed two pints of blood which according to the doctors was a clean surgery. They said his liver took on quickly and everything else seen to follow. When he was brought to ICU, I spoke to him and asked him to open his eyes if he could hear me. He did and was aware that I was there. I was prepare to find him so swollen, but he looked good. The tubes and machines on him wasn't as bad as I pictured. Late that night they removed the tube from his mouth and by the next day he was sitting on the chair next to his bed when I walked in the nurse told me he had walk a few steps and the doctors were amazed of his progress. By that night he was moved to a room and had some more of his lines removed. By the third day we got to walk with him for 10 minutes and was having conversations with him like his old self. By the fourth day all he had was an IV line on his hand to give him pain medications, but everything else was off. He was back on solids in no time and was discharged Thursday the 9th. He still is not sleeping well and has a lot of discomfort, but is taking his meds and doing what the doctor ordered. They did his first labs on Thursday and all his numbers are fine, they had to increase his prograf because they found that a little low. I saw his recent ALk Phos and it was down to 166, I don't have all his numbers in front of me now, but I remeber that one off the top of my head. The doctors told Phil that if they get more recoverys like his they will have to start doing transplant as an outpatient surgery. He still isn't out of the woods yet, but it looks good so far. I told his eyes look like light bulds. Like I said I will try and update as soon as we get back home to stay. Again, THANKS! I'm keeping you all in my prayers. Don't give up hope.
