Guest guest
Jeanne, Glad to hear things are moving quickly and that you're getting top notch help in Amarillo. My liver doctor told me the same thing in December. Quote: " You won't have to wait for a liver in Houston. " I see a team of docs at the Liver Disease Center at Baylor in Houston (the Medical Center here is great). Anyway, whether it's the " no helmet " law or just an abundance of organ donors, I am quire pleased to know there won't be a wait when the time comes. So, to all of you who will need a liver...Houston is a great place to live! Affordable housing, interestimg people and food, easy to fly in and out of, and an abundance of livers. I will say that the heat and humidity can be overwhelming in the summer. However, after my resection in December, I'm always cold...and for the first summer ever, I welcomed the heat! - Severin *********** Dad of 4 (above-average, beautiful kids) Devoted Husband (I married up!) Best of luck Thanks Jeanne Pampa txgaranzuay wrote: Jeanne,Glad to hear things are moving quickly and that you're getting top notch help in Amarillo. Guest guest
From a different Texas perspective. I am a native Houstonian and there is one liver center (that shall remain nameless in this post) that I wouldn't send a sick pet to. Speaking from personal experience, I was bounced around to 4 (count 'em, four) separate hepatologists in a span of a year and 1/2. Only one of them had common sense. After more than enough bad encounters with these doctors, I have since referred myself to another program in our great medical center. After just one visit, a definitive treatment program has been started for me. A big THANK YOU goes out to this group. This rant could go on forever but I will finish now. If anyone who is considering using a Houston liver group, please feel free to contact me privately.
