I have a brain MRI and spinal tap sceduled. > Hi ~ Your symptoms could be B12 deficiency, MS, etc. I was diagnosed with MS in 2/03 with symptoms such as yours and PSC 6/04. My tingling and numbness began with the hands and feet and moved to my legs. I eventually had numbness in my torso and a " tightness " around the ribcage - it's called the " MS hug " . It gradually moved to the head - basically the whole body was numb. I'm glad you're getting the MRI and spinal tap done soon. That way you can be treated soon. I am doing very well with no symptoms, but I certainly hope you don't have it and that it is something minor. Please feel free to email with questions. This autoimmune stuff really stinks! Good Luck and please keep us updated. I'll be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed! Liz in CT PSC 6/04 MS 2/
Guest guest
I had a rather similar experience about a year ago. It felt like a string went from my right hand to my right foot (particularly in the thumb and big toe). My doc told me to go to a neuro. I think it was referred pain since it was solely on the right side, bit I'm no jack-all doctor. I never did go to that neuro and It went away on its own. I find that doctors are only of any use to me when I am on deaths door. I try to avoid them as much as possible unless their jobs are in danger if they screw up. Too much cold shoulder or " hmm I'm not sure, why don't you come back at great expense for the 30th time and we'll do another barrage of tests that find nothing, eh? " . When I've lost 20 lbs in the ER and my heart rate and breathing become labored, then they spend the time to find out what the heck is going on. Maybe I should have visited that neuro and just got lucky that the pain and twitch went away. I haven't visited enough neuro's to suggest that they are quacks yet. I've got PSC ('99), UC ('99), and 's ('07) > > So I haven't posted much here lately. In early May I starting > having problems with numbness and tingling in my hands. Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies! I haven't got an dx yet, or answer I guess, lol. I really hope it doesn't lead to another dx. I was on vacation though and just got back. I have an MRI and spinal tap scheduled for tomorrow morning (June 30, 10 and 11 am CST). I probably won't have an actual answer for another week or more though. As much as I hate that others are dealing with the same thing, it makes me hopeful that maybe it's not MS. I've had neurological symptoms for a while but the docs were always more worried about liver since they can actually see a problem with the LFTs. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. THanks for asking Liz! abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz I think that covers it all, lol =)
