Not all day, but during certain portions of the day, I am able to process better and laugh more - bringing me closer to who I was. It's giving me hope - might be worth your having adrenals tested and trying. >
Guest guest
Try to get a 4x per day saliva cortisol test (link to ZRT labs in the tests section of the links section here) and also thyroid tests (at least free T3, free T4, antibodies, others if offered, hopefully your doctor would order these blood tests) and bring the test results back to us! The sort of irreparable problems or the problems that can be improved with other interventions? It would be really crummy if I don't get cured. Guest guest
My adrenals are completely shut. I wonder, will you get better an better on the cortisol, do you take 20mg of cortisol a day, in a couple of dosis? Guest guest
Thanks , Will ask doc, I am seeing her Friday to talk about cortisol. I am thinking about taking some hydrocortisol cream and put it in a capsule and just take it to see if it helps! I'll bring the results back. How many rounds of chelation are you guys thinking of? All this time I thought 100 rounds of ALA was enough. I was thinking about asking my doc also for Lyme disease testing, I read that it is a dumpster diagnosys that doesn't mean much in many cases, are there other things besides adrenals and thyroid that I could look into? Guest guest
Last fall I was so exhausted I nearly passed out SITTING in a meeting. I couldn't get disability because I couldn't prove I was sick. I was desperate and started Cortef/Hydrocortisone and I noticed an almost immediate lift. A coworker commented the week I started on it how I looked more alert. I then took a saliva test and it did show I had slight adrenal failure - I'd hate to know what severe is! Then a month later, I started Armour for hypothyroid even though my free T3 and free T4 and TSH were " in the range. " I did have all the hypo symptoms. 2 months after that, I started chelation with dmps. I started at 12mgs and that was too much. I've dropped down to 6 mgs and am holding at that for awhile. Today I got the best compliment from a coworker who had no idea of my health woes. She said " you look younger... and thinner " . She thought it was related to my dealing with job stress better. - God bless you - wisely advised me to treat my adrenals/thyroid first before starting chelation. I think last fall my body wouldn't have been able to handle chelation. I know Andy mentions this in his book, but I really think for some of us it is a necessity before we start chelation. If I were you, I'd stop chelation for awhile and get your adrenal/thyroid supported. Then when you feel stronger, go back to chelation. It is also possible mercury isn't your main problem. It could be copper or lyme. God bless, Val

Guest guest
Hi: Like you, I definitely have plenty of adrenal and thyroid symptoms! I definitely have mercury, though. I think that what you say makes a lot of sense to me, I have both shut adrenals and low thyroid. When I started this chelation thing, which I started for my son, my brain fog was so thick I couldn't understand Andy's book. A few days ago I read lots of sections I hadn't been ablo to, partly out of desperation, and got myself another extra set of supps, I don't feel quite right on them, but the anxiety and brain fog is under control! Now I am getting the thyroid-adrenal info. I'll definitely look into that, tomorrow I am seeing my doc, and I hope this times she helps. Guest guest
> My chronic fatigue is very bad, so bad I am > unable to work and I am barely functional. Hi Raquel, Yep, that was me too. Rx cortisol (Cortef) gave me my life back. I'd recommend a saliva test to see how your cortisol production is over the course of the day. It works quickly. I bet once you get adrenal/thyroid fixed up, you're going to see results from all those rounds that are being masked by hormone problems.
