Guest guest
Hi Sam; Thanks for posting the news article on " Molecules reverse rats' liver cirrhosis " . This is pretty exciting, and is a very clever use of vitamin A to target the collagen-producing stellate cells in the liver. I hope it can be developed into a human therapy soon! For those interested in the original abstract in PubMed, it is: Sato Y, Murase K, Kato J, Kobune M, Sato T, Kawano Y, Takimoto R, Takada K, Miyanishi K, Matsunaga T, Takayama T, Niitsu Y (2008) Resolution of liver cirrhosis using vitamin A-coupled liposomes to deliver siRNA against a collagen-specific chaperone. Nat. Biotechnol. Mar 30 [Epub ahead of print]. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18376398 Please contact me privately if you'd like to see the full text.
