Guest guest
, I was told that I would be perfectly fine because I am concerned about coming home a few hrs. after having a mod. rad mastectomy. I have been given pain medicine and instructions of what I should be doing. A nurse will show my husband and I what to do with the two drains. I'm happy to see I'm not crazy for thinking I should be hospitalizws after this! Irma --- ssist@... wrote: > Irma, > > WHY are you going home the same day??????? I don't > understand. Guest guest
What you are talking about, Irma, is a drive by mastectomy which is illegal in a lot of states. Insurance companies, in those states, have to allow you to stay overnight. Call your insuance company and ask about their policy. Talk to someone in charge at the hospital, as well! Good grief!! Guest guest
I had a bilateral mastectomy - (left side was a radical mastectomy). Despite the fact that I had a VERY easy time, I stayed overnight and was glad to be in the hospital. I just felt more secure being there that first night. I hope you can get an overnight. It's terribly unfair to expect women to undergo drive by mastectomies. Please let us know, Ann Chemo Hats: www.cjhats.com --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo!
