Guest guest
Hi Melvyn; My son didn't know that he had UC at the time of his PSC diagnosis. As soon as they found out he had PSC they did a colonoscopy and discovered that he also had UC. He was immediately placed on Asacol, and this resulted in major improvement in the appearance of his colon at the follow-up colonoscopy one year later. His most recent colonoscopy (a few months ago) showed little, if any sign of UC. He takes fish oils which may also be helping in reducing gut inflammation. The fish oils, ursodiol and Asacol may afford some protection against colon cancer. Best regards, Dave (father of (22); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03)
