Guest guest
OK, folks, I know it's the weekend but I'm hoping , Aubrey and/or Barb can shed a bit of light here. After 8 days in Club Med, I'm losing ground quickly and the drs. are stumped. Symptoms -- Fever staying between 101 and 102; upper-mid gastric pain, spreading to right upper quadrant and boring through unmercifully to the back; nausea continuing to worsen. This feels absolutely identical to how I felt right before they removed my gall bladder in 1994, but there's no gall bladder now. Pain level hit a perfect 10 tonight, utterly excruciating. I'm getting demerol & phenergan shot every 4 hours; also Lovonox (heperin) injectiom once a day. MRCP -- showed large diffuse thrombosis in distal portal vein. Nothing else of note. EDG -- showed 5 esophageal varices (large ones; didn't band) LABS -- WBC is 6.3 (my usual is 3.5) Platelets 105 Glucose 115 (highest ever) Amylase 14 Lipase 15 BUN 3 Creatinine .7 Protein 5.8 Albumin 2.4 Potassium 3.4 Bilirubin 1.1 (was 2.3 when I came in) SGPT 19 SGOT 24 ANYBODY!!!! Please give me hints. They were talking yesterday about discharging me when I'm sicker than I waas a week ago! And yes, I do have a copy of the " Unsafe Discharge Rant! " Many thanks to all, Carolyn B. in SC
