You can be sedated for the MRCP, because they've done it for me (before I got used to the confined space I used to panic!). They will give you enough to relax you, but not zonk you. Tell him to ask for it ahead of time. I had to take it (if I remember right) about 30 min. before the MRCP so I'd be relaxed when I got there.

I'll be thinking of him and praying for the best.

of curiousity…Will they sedate you during an MRCP? Todd never likes the

MRCP just because of the noise and being confined for so long, but he said he

didn’t think he could be sedated because they ask him to hold his breath

and breath deep at certain times.

I wonder if just a little bit of something might help him relax....I know we all have liver concerns, so I'm not sure which drugs are appropriate, but a little xanax might make the noise less bothersome. I know I hated the noise too.
