For those of you who do not know, I have a friend in Las Vegas that has liver cirrhosis. We hadn't spoken in a few years, but a few months ago (after being on my mind for a couple of months) I tracked her down. When I told her that I'm waiting for a liver tx, she informed me that she was, too. We are at the same place as far as the condition of our livers, however, she informed me that hers is not a result of liver disease.

She is engaged and her fiance bought me a round-trip ticket to Vegas so we can spend some quality time together. He emailed me and told me that she'd been telling him that something was missing in her life. After we reconnected she told him that something was me. He thinks it's vital to Michele's morale for us to see one another again, before life gets any crazier. When he first offered I balked at the idea, but after my GI bleed I realized he was right...life's too short and now's a good time to reunite and rehash childhood memories. We've known each other since we were eight, so there is a lot of them!

Why am I writing, you may be wondering at this point? Because I will not be available much while I'm gone (2/5-2/10), and because I'm requesting more prayers. For those of you who believe, please pray that my health holds up while I'm gone and that God uses me to make a difference in Michele's life. Although we are at the same place medically, spriritually/emotionally we are not. We both know the kind of time frame we're looking at if we don't get new livers. I am at peace with the situation and she is merely resigned to it. There is a difference! I hope she regains her will to fight and a deep sense of peace in the event she does not get tx'd.

I will be thinking of all of you while I'm away and praying for nothing but good things!

Thanks in advance,
