Guest guest
Kristy – was the surgery you had done considered a vestibulectomy? If not – does it have a name? nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Kristy Sokoloski Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 3:51 AM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: causes of PN/PNE/Vulvodynia My issues with vulvodynia was caused by a surgical procedure to the labia minora to remove excess skin. After a number of years of searching one of the things I found out from my Pain Management doctor (she's experienced with treating vulvodynia) is that the damage could have been done by one of the instruments during the surgery, the instrument to hold the other part of the area back when the excess skin was removed: the retractor. Makes sense because of where a lot of my pain issue is from the nerve damage especially with the pain issue that has creeped up there in the last 9 months.
