Guest guest
Hi again folks, Thanks very much to all who have answered my questions before. I'm attempting my second round of chelation with my son (age 10, 92 lbs, also being treated for Lyme) with a reduced dosage this time. This time, I am using ~12.5 mg DMSA + ~12.5 mg ALA at 3 hour intervals. I have administered this dosage since 4 PM Friday ... it is now 7 PM Saturday. He started to have stomach discomfort at 7 AM Sat morning. Apart from being tired, the only other significant side effect seems to be stomach cramping or discomfort (he points to the area under the navel). The pain seems to ebb and flow a bit but is always there (I get the impression that it is similar to the pain one gets when taking antibiotics). Although he is in reasonable spirits, I wanted to get some feedback. I had stopped chelation completely mid-round #1 after he was experiencing cramps and nausea at 25 mg DMSA a few weeks ago. I decided to try a reduced dose (as suggested) and add ALA this time round. Is cramping and general lower intestine discomfort a normal side effect? Is there anything I can give him to ease the pain? I am continuing his normal supplements including probiotics and caprylic acid. I am hoping to get through this cycle without stopping, but not having a lot of experience in this, I am concerned. Any timely feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much, Deb
