There are basically 2 HEMS organizations now-the Association of Air Medical

Services (AAMS) and P A T I E N T F I R S T

Air Medical Transport Alliance. The latter was formed by non-profit HEMS

operators who were disenchanted with the way AAMS was heading. Patient First

wants more federal and state oversight and AAMS is against it.
