You could try 50 mg to start and work up to 100 mg, possibly more for some people. I'm not sure of the max. I don't think you generally want to take this on top of an SSRI. Lithium you can start with 5 mg of orotate or aspartate. If you had undetectable hair lithium, you might possibly benefit from more than 5 mg. When the search function is working, you may be able to find specific dosage recommendations from Andy in archives, either here or you can try onibasu (which was working today, so maybe a better bet). --
Guest guest
Lithium is 1-5 mg daily unless you feel too good, then use it a few times a week. My 12 year old and I both use 5mg Lithium Orotate caps. As that is how it's sold. I was told that this dose is very low and normally lithium occurs in drinking water, but in some parts of the country..it's very low. So people who live there would already be low and then add in a Hg problem....well our hair tests had no detectable lithium. But we only need them a few times a month, when moods are really low such as following a round. If I take it every day, which I tried to do, I felt weird. Not sick or anything. I guess you could say it was making me feel better, but since I am not used to being so calm and content feeling, I really didnt'like the feeling. I am usually high strung and very busy. So I prefer to use it more low key to combat harsher mood swings. I am sorry I don't remember the dose for 5HTP. You could try searching the mercury autism archives on www.onibasu.com where all Andy's replies are stored. Does anyone know the best dosage or dosage range for 5HTP? Also for > Lithium?
