Guest guest
Hello everyone, I've been having migraines almost everyday now for over a week... (self-diagnosed). All I want to do is crawl into a hole and die.. can't handle noise, light, talking, nothing. I've never had " typical " migraines in the past so I'm wondering whats up? This is what I'm taking: 1/2 gr. Armour 10mg cortef at waking 5mg at noon and 5mg at 3pm Metformin twice a day (the lowest dosage.. can't think of what it is right now) These are in teh order of which I started them. I've been on the metformin just a few weeks. Also, I've been coming down with one bug after another (and I'm a relatively healthy person granted). Should I discontinue my cortef while sick? I was told it can cause my body not to heal from an infection properly? Thanks, brittney
Guest guest
I think it is just the opposite. You likely need more cortisol and a better dosing schedule. Especially if you keep coming down with things. Your cortisol is not high enough for it to me an immune suppressor unless you really didn't need it to begin with. Too low cortisol definitely causes more illness. Most people stress dose adding more during illness. Do you have lab results from before you started the cortisol? That would tell me more and I could give you a better answer with that info. The headaches can be a number of things. Too low cortisol, too low or high thyroid meds, or maybe even the Metformin although I am not familiar with what that is. Ironically, I got migraines from T3 which I stopped then had a bad one the other day but am much better today. I added more sea salt but I don't know if that is what helped.
