Guest guest
I don’t know definitively about erythritol; I would guess it’s not legal. You’re eating a lot of advanced foods for having been on the diet for 8 days. You might want to back up and go a bit slower. As you then get more used to the diet over time your weight should start to stabilize. Grains, including rice, may help you gain weight, but they can be a killer for your gut. They certainly were for me. You’re still taking LDN, right? Keep taking it! But try to get off Asacol as soon as possible, and then slowly taper down the prednisone too. That will solve your sleep problem. The LDN – without being inhibited by steroids – will also help you sleep deeply (except – for some people – when you first get on it). n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of cdelaubert@... I still have inflammation in my guts and sweat a lot at night and need to take electrolytes. The ones I have been using are not legal (Alcacer) is there a brand that is legal. I find myself in a hard place. Started the SCD 8 days ago, am still on 5mg of prednisone and 9 Asacol a day and still have inflammation but no diahrrea for quite a while. If I am on the beginning diet I loose weight which I absolutely cannot afford, I am skin and bones and is not good at 57 years old. So I started more advanced foods such as 1/2 and 1/2 yoghurt mixed with regular yoghurt, cheese, almond butter, nuts, more veggies also and juice and all the other stuff meat, fish, fruts...but all this fat is difficult to digest even though I enjoy eating all these foods that I haven't eaten in many many years because I would get headackes and indigestion. So far on this diet I am tolerating it better but it seems to make me tired. I would also say that I have more pain in the guts than before the diet when at the beginning of LDN. I saw my trusted and excellent Tibetan doctor who confirmed I couldn't loose any more weight and said it was due to not eating grains anymore and complex carb. Obviously she was not supportive of me not eating grains at all and said that my body type (Vata) really needs grains, earth and that possibly the diet was not good for all body types. I didn't follow her advice but am struggling. Any suggestion? Also eating all this fat will it not increase my cholesterol. Sorry for my ignorance. I believe I am a little afraid of fatty stuff because I haven't done well with it in the past. Also I need sleep aids, particularly that I am on steroids. right now I take ambien because I have to sleep and hope to ween myself when i stop the steroids. I used to take some melatonine (not legal) and L-tryptophane. What are some legal sleep aids that people use, other than camomille, valerian and that type of stuff that do nothing for me? I have heard of Gaba but haven't tried it. Thanks to those who have responded to my previous questions. Very grateful for the help Claude CD 2 years LDN 6/19/09 SCD 6/30/09 not yet 100% but trying Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 8.5.387 / Virus Database: 270.13.8/2224 - Release Date: 07/08/09 05:53:

In my first months on the diet, I was eating every two hours. The foods you have added are probably fine, with the exception of the whole nuts. It is difficult. Tell us exactly what you are eating. That will allow us to make recommendations. If you find the high fats difficult to digest, this is probably because your pancreas and liver are out of practice producing the necessary enzymes, and it may take time to begin doing so if you have not eaten fats for a long time. You may, indeed, need more carbohydrates than you are currently consuming, but they do NOT have to be complex carbs and grains. <sigh> I ran into this with an alternative practitioner who insisted I had to eat lots of tofu and edame (soy beans). And stop eating meat, with its " poisoned energy. " I kind of blinked at her, and said, " But I stop breathing when I eat soy. My recollection is that so long as the melatonin does not have any illegals added to it, it should be legal. If you are dealing with insomnia, watch out for a melatonin which also contains Vitamin B-6, as that, at bedtime, as that can make you hyper. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
