Gimlitier,

Your English is much better than my German, which consists of my maiden

name! (My great-grandfather emigrated from Germany to the U.S.)

There's a difference between continuing to take something bulky like

psyllium, and taking a small amount of something in a prescription

capsule. Although I use a non-legal product to prevent muscle spasm in my

back, the total amount is less than 10 grams. Based on pre-SCD experience

with psyllium, you are probably taking quite a bit more than

that.

The psyllium is continuing to feed the bad bacteria.

If you feel you need more bulk in your diet, use fresh, cooked, tolerated

vegetables. I had difficulty in the beginning if I did not eat a large

serving of cooked, peeled zucchini (courgettes is the British name for

this vegetable; I think it is die zucchini or zucchinis in German) on a

daily basis. For several months, the only vegetable I tolerated WAS

zucchini. Even after I was able to tolerate other vegetables, I had to

have my serving of zucchini on a daily basis or I would either not have a

bowel movement, or I would have many small movements.
