Guest guest
A few days ago my mom pulled out a mason jar with dripped yogurt. I bought the jars last year--they were dishwashered before using. I used yogourmet starter and whole milk from whole foods. I dripped it and put it into the jar in the refrigerator. The lid was hard to open and it had black, grainy looking 'dirt' when you turned the lid. The lid was black but washed off easily. It smelled ok but something was slightly 'off'. She did taste of it and it was sooo tart she threw it out. I made three batches--two makers and two starters. Most of it was great. No problems, cats, me, her--all did fine. The one batch I suspect was used in the euro maker but can't be sure had a reaction of some type. Any ideas or experiences like this? I think I'll use fage total as a starter and Oak Farms milk in the Salton from now on but I hate to waste everything again. Thanks for any feedback, Debbie 40 cd
