OK -- you certainly make it sound like a lot of fun! Where is next year's

conference, so I can

start saving now! I think New England would be a great location!

your calendar and start saving for the next PSC Conference that will be held in

Chicago, IL on May 1-3, 2009. It is so hard to

express in posts and emails how wonderful

the conference is. It is something that you aren’t quite sure if

you want or need to attend for the first time, but once you do it you will want

to keep coming back each year. The caring and support that we all get

through this online support group is the greatest…you can feel it through

your computer…imagine that same feeling times thousands meeting everyone

in person. Everyone is SO wonderful. I haven’t laughed so

hard since last year…of course having made it even funnier. Hope

to see you all in Chicago!

Love it !!!!! The whole list. Thanks for making us laugh, it really is the best medicine.LeeTop 10 Things I Learned at the PSC Conference1. Ricky Safer is faking the PSC thing. Way too much energy, drive, passion, and conviction for even a healthy person. Doesn’t miss a step, terribly efficient, even when she uses the ladies room. Not a second to waste in the fight against PSC! Awesome, amazing, fabulous job Ricky.

I too can’t begin to describe the incredibly positive

energy that radiates through the whole weekend of our conferences. Our

attendees are just an amazing group of folks, both the PSCers and the

caregivers. If you have never been able to make it to one of our

conferences, they are a life-changing experience for many of us. Not only

do we learn the latest updates about PSC and PSC research, but, as Joanne said,

the bonds that we form with the other PSC family members are so comforting.

When we are together, there is a feeling of power, almost a sense of control

over our lives. Even the Mayo physicians sensed this spirit. Many

of the speakers told me that our group is the most educated patient group that

they have ever seen. They also remarked that it is rare to see a group where

all the attendees communicate so well and so freely with each other. I

was particularly touched by the group of PSCers in their 20s and 30s who bonded

immediately and were able to share all their concerns, questions and

advice. It was heartwarming to see you all having such fun together.

You are all special people!

, I still have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at

your Top 10 Things I Learned at the PSC Conference. I still haven’t

recovered from laughing at your presentation on Saturday night. I agree

with you that poor Dr. Karlsen may never have the guts to step foot on our soil

again. Thank you for donating 50% of the proceeds from your book sales to PSC

Partners!!!! I love your book….

Thank you to everyone who helped make the conference a success

either by speaking at the conference (Dave , Joanne Grieme, Aubrey

Goldstein, Ivor Sweigler, Hussey), volunteering your time to help or

donating to the foundation. Thank you to all the attendees who took the time

and effort to join us. It truly is all of you who make the conference a

success!!

Special kudos to Lee Bria and Joanne Hatchett for their

incredible success with the Road to ville fundraiser. Way to

go!!!!

Thanks again to Tim Wholey and Joanne Grieme for organizing such

a fantastic golf tournament.

Sorry that I’m rambling, but my mind is racing with

wonderful memories.

To everyone…..Try to start saving money now so that you

can join us for our 2009 conference in Chicago. Becky Long, Conference

Co-Chair is busy at work already planning a super conference.

Top 10 Things I Learned at the PSC Conference

2. Don Safer HAD to be a game show host in a previous life. Perfect emcee, congenial, pleasant, ties his own bow ties and curls his own hair.

3. Dave is not only brilliant, but handsome. Totally unfair.

4. Lee Bria makes fund-raising more like “fun-raising.” No one does it better Lee!

5. Joanne Hatchett is fun/d-raiser extraordinaire as well. She is the cutest, teensiest little ball of fire --I want to dangle her from my rearview mirror.

6. The adorable, blushing, Norwegian doctor Tom Karlson—who was given the $28 million grant to research PSC—may never step foot on our soil again. My apologies. I will never again ask Norwegians questions such as, “Are you married? What do you mean you don’t know?”

7. In order to look as good as Jett-Scherder I may need to get a liver transplant—a drastic measure, for sure. Some women opt for the lesser extreme of botox or plastic surgery, but has always gone the extra mile.

8. Arne’s last name is NOT Stonehollow, which I thought it was up until last weekend. Great pics, Arne Whateveryourlastnameis.

9. Women with PSC are in better shape than the average American woman. You ALL looked mah-velous, dahlings! Same thing for the guys, but being a chick. I couldn’t help but notice the “fit-ness” of the Pretty Slim Chicks.

10. ALL of you are fantastic, amazing, have the most generous hearts and spirits, and were a fun audience, and some of you even look great in tangerine, Joanne. Thanks also to those who purchased my book. With 50% of the funds going to PSC, I was able to contributed $225.

On that note: I’m still selling my book I’m Not OK, You’re Not OK, But That’s OK With God. Subtitle: Finding the Humor and Healing in Life. I’ll continue to donate half the proceeds to PSC. Book retails for $15.00. Add $4.00 for shipping/handling for total of $19.00, check made out to Hussey, 4980 Thornwood Cove NW, Acworth, GA 30102

Side note to Betty: read my book and you may change your mind about FRED! You, too, are a hoot!
