If these are not an option, you might consider contacting the sheriff's office

training division to ask if they would allow you to contract for an officer to

do a detail to train you and some others how to use non-lethal hold techniques

(I do not know what the current cost is per hour for a detail.)(someone from the

criminal justice institute at B.C.C. could do this too.) When I went through the

academy several years ago I learned some really good holds that will subdue

someone without harming them. There are pressure points under the arms behind

the knees etc. that work well for helping to control someone. They also taught

things like holding a persons nose or where to grab them on the neck to stop a

person from biting you. It was interesting and useful.
