Hi

Suzanna,

We have spoken in the past about your

dislike for your GI. I agree it is nice to have all the docs within the

same system especially GI and Hep if it is possible. If you want to keep

your Hep then you need to ask the scheduler to get the approval she needs to

switch. There are times when personalities just don’t mix and it is

time to move on. I know your Hep both professionally and personally and

can’t say a negative thing about him…have you considered asking him

about referring you to another GI doc within UPMC. If you want to switch

both Hep and GI to another facility I can recommend great docs at AGH also.

I wish you could have made it to the Three

Rivers Liver Walk yesterday…hopefully you can next year. It was a

great day in spite of the yucky Pittsburgh weather. The picture attached is my daughter dressed up as Alfie

“the liver mascot” and my son Todd’s puppy.

Together in the fight, whatever it takes.

That is tough. If it were me, I would likely confront it head-on and tell him

that you are

thinking of finding another doctor because you " feel " that he isn't addressing

your " needs " as

a patient. Put the ball in his lap and let him deal with it. Ultimately, we are

the customers and

we should all be getting excellent treatment from our MDs.

The other thing you can do is ask your Hep for suggestions. He might be able to

provide

some god insider advice.

In general, though -- I think being frank with your doctor will yield the most

results and

perhaps get you an apology or two -- and likely much more solicitous treatment

in the

future.

HTH,

Colleen
