Guest guest
Ok, those guys beat me with a report. Here's my take: I get up at 5:00 am. Its minus zero. I load up and take off. It's 372 miles each way. For what? To meet up with two guys I've never seen before. What am I? Nuts? Yep, big time. It was a compulsion. To see somebody else with the same thing I've got. Oh, I did meet the lovely Daine a year ago, but men are different. At least she was pretty to look at. I get a guy with platic tubes hanging all over him. At least the other guy looked more normal. No plastic Then I have to hear all their war stories. We are all vets and that's what vets do - relive all their exciting combat time. I ragaled them with stories of my years in Madrid fighting for my country fending off attacks by senoritas. Man, those were scary times, but I was brave and fought ferrociously. Of course, as it always is when it's a matter of life or death, a sensible man will surrender. Besides a good lunch, what did I get out of this? Two new friends, companions who share with me a common battle, just all the members of this support group do. Meeting them in person, feeling the warmth of their handshake, creates a strong sense of bonding. I wish I could meet all members of this group in the same way. Despite the glad handing, they stuck me with the bill (my God, it was $35.00!) but I made them double tip. And that is not me in those photos. I really was wearing a tutu and had pink hair. They were too embarrassed to be seen with me, so they got a man at the next table to be in the photos.
