Guest guest
An article in the March 15 " Transplantation " discusses non-ABO compatable, adult-to-adult living donor liver transplants. It was a small study, but it found: " ABO-incompatible LDLT can be performed with patient and graft survival similar to compatible LDLT. Minimization of immunosuppression is possible, and chronic biliary damage is not the norm. " The abstract is here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18337660?dopt=Abstract Pam (mom to Quantell, 17, dx 1996, tx 2001, dx recurrence with AIH overlap 2006)
