Guest guest
I went in on midnight Friday, had the surgery afternoon Saturday, and went back to work the next week (can't remember what day). No big deal (if done laparoscopically) - of course the relief from pain may have " colored " my outlook on it! After the surgery, one of my coworkers said she'd rather have 6 more kids than go through another episode of pain like that (sorry, no experience to confirm). :0) Most internet sites say return to work in 1-2 weeks. I'm pretty sure I was back before that, but I had a desk job at the time. According to my journal, I was riding the tractor 3 days later and baled some hay the day after (with help). Guest guest
EEECH - for others having surgery, please don't follow Arnie's example of hay baling so soon after (of course I couldn't lift a bale of hay on any day, but....). No need to be that strong! Joanne H (, Ca) ... According to my journal, I was riding the tractor 3 days later and baled some hay the day after (with help). Guest guest
Yeah -- ditto! I couldn't believe it when I read that! I was kept in the hospital overnight, as in 1991, I was one of the first 20 patients to have the newfangled laparoscopic version of GB surgery in my local hospital! I was driving within the week, but took two weeks off from my job. I think I needed that time more to recover from the hospital stay and to get the anesthesia to wear off! Arne -- where do you keep your cape?!
