Liz,

I have done this twice now with no problems. First time was with bad bronchitis

- went up from 20mg to 60mg, then tapered back down again after a couple of

weeks (no problems). I just had a cold started last week and doubled my dose for

three days (my dr. told me I could double for three days without having to taper

down). The idea is that your adrenals would normally be producing more in

response to the stress, so you are just replacing what they should be doing.

Obviously if you have any problems you should check with your doc.

Doctors frequently give out Medrol dose packs when you get sick, which is

essentially the same thing - you hit it with a large dose and then taper off.

You should also try the hydrogen peroxide cold/flu fighter - I put warmed hydro

peroxide in each ear (one at a time) and lay on my side and let it bubble away

for 10-15 minutes. I do it every 4-6 hours until the symptoms are gone. I

started feeling sick last Sunday, did this regime (hydro per, HC stress dose,

Vit C), and the symptoms never got bad and it was gone by Tuesday.

I've never tried HC for periods.

Hope you feel better soon.

wonderful combination eh? I'm dosing up on vitamin c and juicing

carrots and apples. I'm very reluctant to double dose HC as people

seem to do...have people done this and had it work with no side

effects going back down? Also, do people ever take more HC to deal

with period/PMS issues?
