Guest guest
I don't mean to scare you , but I had neck pain and a cough when I was diagnosed with having a blocked artery in my heart! I had to go by ambulance to the hospital and they did a heart cath the next day and angioplasty (and a stent) fixed the problem. I complained about the pain in my next, tried to attribute it to the cough and finally, after talking to the cardiologist, found out that the pain in my neck was from a lack of oxygen and I was getting ready to have a heart attack! I was 36 at that time (and I am 42 now). Nobody suspected that I had heart problems, even though it runs in my family; both my mother's side and father's side have heart disease in the history. I am thankful I found it before it was too late! My son was just an infant at the time of the placement of my stent. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that this is one other thing you should discuss with your doctor. It could be heart related (secondary to lung disease). Good luck and hope you find relief from the cough soon. Guest guest
Tina Excellent point that anytime you have " another " symptom that isn't just an ordinary part of PF, treat it seriously. It can be secondary or it can be unrelated. For all of us who assumed our breathing problems were allergies or being out of shape or age or whatever, now let's not assume that a pain or a new cough or another part of our body hurting is an ordinary part of PF. Get a doctor to tell you if it is or not. > > > > > > > > I was diagnosed with IPF in March 2005. I'm unable to do > things > > > > without my oxygen.
