Guest guest
A brief history since I don't post often. ;-) I started on cynomel last July. First time on any type of thyroid medicine. Started it due to high rT3 and lots of hypo symptoms. Felt awesome soon after. Increased the T3 without any problems. A few months ago I started researching again since I had never noticed the rT3 clearing and was up to 5 or 6 doses of 25 mcg per day. Discovered my ferritin from last year was low (31). Val suggested I drop down to 50 mcg/day. I have been doing that for 6-8 weeks now and taking lots of iron and drinking lots of green smoothies. For the last few weeks I have been feeling something funny, maybe my heart? For the last few days, when I notice this feeling, I have been taking my iron, at that moment. After a half hour or so, it seems to calm down. My pulse is below 80. I was just sitting here watching my heart, feeling my heart pounding. Took my pulse, it's exactly 80. Decided to take iron, just trying to figure out if that's it. Also decided to take my temp because I'm hot, which is a bit unusual, even in this non-air conditioned house in the piedmont of VA. MY TEMP IS 98!!!! I have never seen that before, unless I was sick. It's been 20 minutes or so since taking the iron, and my heart is calmer, almost back to normal. What is this heart pounding thing? Is there a correlation with the iron? Is taking the iron making so much of difference with the effectiveness of the T3? Can I clear the rT3 just from increasing the iron? My last rT3 lab, from April, was in the 20's. Also, my chiro would like more information on the ferritin/T3 connection. He is especially curious because he has iron levels that are too high, but I'm not sure about his ferritin level, specifically. I would like to learn more about it as well.
