Guest guest
Sharon, when you were in Alaska, were the natives all Tlingits or were there also Haidas? We've a large native population in this area and some very talented carvers and other artisans. When I was with the teacher who wanted me to go to Kuwait or Saudi Arabia (he's now in the ines!), I did a lot of volunteering at the native high school that was built to bring kids from the reservation and into town to get an education other than gas cans and bottles *sad but true*. I love going to the art galleries and I've got a few Native paintings I'm hoping not to have to sell. Btw what took you to Alaska and why did you end up in in Arizona? .... hugs, Cait One of mike's carvings (3 pics) this is deer antler ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php
Guest guest
I'm not familiar with the Haidas. Here's an interesting site showing the Native Indians of Alaska. http://www.aaanativearts.com/alaskan-natives/alaska-indians.htmI am from Arizona. I was born here and lived here most of my life. After I nearly died in the car wreck in 2002 I felt the need for one last adventure, if you know what I mean. Alaska seemed perfect for it! That's why we sold everything and moved to Alaska. We certainly had an adventure. We lived like pioneers and I loved it. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
