Jackie, I never suggest I have CFS or anything of the sort. I wasn't diagnosed

with that; we went after the cause of a vast complex of symptoms and got to the

bottom of it, much as I wanted to believe the whole thing was hypothyroidism.

CFS, for me, is simply a designation of one aspect of symptoms that are part of

mercury toxicity.

-------------It sounds like you got a doctor to diagnose you with mercury

poisoning? That has been part of my problem, I hadn't found a good doctor

locally, so I started on all of this without an " official diagnosis " . My hair

test met two counting rules, I had plenty of symptoms which slowly came on after

getting old amalgams replaced with new amalgams, so I diagnosed myself and went

ahead with amalgam removal and chelation. And that is probably why people have

a harder time believing me, and its a little harder for me to tell my story and

sound credible. It think they can't believe that it can't be tested for more

easily.-----------Jackie

When it comes up (and I confess to largely avoiding anyone knowing anything

about my health), I tell people exactly what it is, where it came from, and just

how pervasive it is throughout the body's systems. Who is there to help others &

help educate the public if we do not do this? At least that's become my approach

and I hope it will encourage you.

------------Yes you are right, we need to be the ones educating others. Like

I said, I'll have a much easier time doing so, if and when I start feeling

better and can show them I was right and am doing the right thing. But it's

hard to be proactive when you feel like a mess, and I have tried to avoid alot

of people lately, but it's not always possible, like the 50th birthday party

last weekend.-------------Jackie

Since many of our friends are college professors or in business management,

and active in environmental issues, I am trusting my growing openness on the

subject will have an impact.

---------------I do have a friend who just became a County Commissioner, and

she is aware of the mercury issue because of me, regarding power plants, etc.

So hopefully I may have some impact through her. And I did forward an article

about the mercury from crematoriums polluting the air to many people, so I do

try to be proactive at times. I guess we need to encourage each

other.----------Jackie

I've written a personal testimony for my dentist's office that is shared with

others regularly. For what it's worth, at a local health association meeting one

year ago the subject of mercury in dentistry did come up & I shared my whole

story. I didn't realize a dentist was in the room. He challenged me and we had a

bit of a showdown until he confessed he couldn't afford to give up amalgam. It

was less expensive for patients and was what

insurance plans reimbursed. He feared he'd go out of business if he didn't use

it. Now he advertises regularly that his office provides 'mercury free

dentistry'. Of course, we have to become well enough to be able to handle those

situations, and it will happen.

---------------------Wow, that's great Joanne! Way to go! I am not currently

in a stable enough mentally and emotionally state to do something like that,

without becoming a blubbering idiot. I don't deal well with confrontation at

all. And I am waiting for the day that I can tell my regular dentist that I'm

all better. And my regular doctor for that matter, too. I really want to be a

success story so I can use it to help educate other people and help them get

well or avoid this in the first place, but its hard to toot my horn when I've

had such a big setback. Hopefully I can get back on track and see some light at

the end of the tunnel, because I'm getting really tired of this nightmare! But

thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Joanne, it does help to hear it from

others too.--------------Jackie
