Elavil caused

me urine retention – so I couldn’t take it. I am currently on

Neurontin – and going off of it. It requires tapering as you could have

seizures if you stopped it abruptly.

It would depend on the meds. I wouldn't worry

about elavil. But some meds

might cause problems if you go off them.

The first thing I tried was elavil and it made me so sleepy that I could not

function so I stopped taking it after about 2 weeks. It worked for the pain

immediately but I couldn't handle the grogginess. I needed to go to work with a

clear head.
