Guest guest
Glbaxter - Are you taking the metoprolol on the adice of a cardiologist to treat an elevated HR due to thyroid medications? I was on levoxyl and it caused rapid heart rate and I had to stop. Before I stopped, 2 doctors suggested I go on metoprolol. I did for a short period but then I thought, why do I want to suppress my HR - if it's a side effect of the thyroid medication then I want to know what it's doing and HR elevation is a pretty strong signal. If the HR increases excessively, you would want to know that I would think, rather than have it suppressed by yet another medication which could cause still more issues. So I stopped taking the metoprolol and shortly after stopped taking the levoxyl too, and that's how I eventually found out that I am not covnerting T4 to T3 efficiently. Stan I need to know if the RT3 problem is specifically with justMetoprolol or all Beta Blockers. My doctor seemed to thinkit was all beta blockers so I need to know for sure.My blood pressure 108/75 on a amall does of Metoprolol, but in the doctor's office my pulse went to l33. I calmed downafter I got home, but the pulse really worries my doctor.I was liking the metoprolol as it "seemed" to not have sideeffects. I am hoping I can tolerate a new blood pressure medicineand I am hoping that I can steadily, eventually take just the ERFAas I tolerate it so well.
