Guest guest
Hi, I don't post often, but am hoping I can get some advice from people. This morning, I was at the hospital for a UV light therapy (which really seems to be helping the ITCH). As I came out of the room, I ran into an acquaintance who has already had a liver transplant and is now at the top of the list for a 2nd one. The problem is, she has a rare blood type that seems to be affecting how quickly she gets one. To make a long story short, she is in the hospital right now trying to get pain under control, is completely swollen, and very jaundiced. If they can get her pain under control she will be released from the hospital, but her doctor wants to continue to have her come in for light therapy to help treat sores that have broken out on her back. We both live in a smaller community away from the hospital, so I offered to drive her in 3 times a week when I am going. With that said, I am wondering if some of you who have been in the more advanced stages of liver disease (or a caregiver) could suggest something I can do/give her at this point to lift her spirits a bit. I am planning to stay and visit after our treatment tomorrow, but would like to do something a little special. At this point, we are really only acquaintances (her husband used to work with mine), but my heart is breaking to see her like this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. a Tallon PSC '
