Guest guest
Scary. Scary. And people flock like sheep to get them. Everyone I know is so PROUD to say they got a flu shot. Like they are the responsible ones. For me, sorry, the flu is just not that big a deal. At least it wasn't until I got to this point of being ill. But still, to take the risk of poisoning just to prevent the flu. it seems ludicrous. At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot--- What are the alternatives to the more dangerous diseases (measles, hep, polio etc). I am scared b/c I think my son (12 yrs old) is due for a booster of some sort soon. Even just a quick google of thimerosal has got me freaked out. There's a LOT of mercury in those vaccines! I'm outraged that it is acceptable. It also makes me aware of how many things we let doctors put into our bodies without ever questioning it. Strange in retrospect. So much trust. And with amalgams it seems the ADA is never going to ban them, I mean it would be admitting a mistake, right? How do we ever move forward? So back to vaccines... Is the only alernative getting the disease? are the diseases themselves better than having mercury poisoning? Can you tell I am new and naive (but willing to learn). I'm sure Andy covers this well in his book, too. Just wondering if anyone has suggested websites in the meantime. I have to admit, a few years ago I listened to a radio program with a woman telling about how she wouldn't vaccinate her child. I thought she was irresponsible, presenting a health risk to everyone, not just her own child. I thought she was hysterical. I was not suffering so badly at the time, and mercury seemed like a non-issue. I'm ashamed. It's easy to sit and judge when the problem is not yours. It's amazing how brain-washed our society is. I feel bad for being a part of the problem. This said, I am also scared of being judged. I guess I should get caught up on the posts here, but wondering if anyone has had to deal with this stigma and how they do it. I think arming yourself with info and being a living example (by getting well) and letting things people say go, are the best ways...but they are all so hard. Thanks for your time. Didn't mean to go on quite so long. ) Connie > > > > > > > > You mentioned vaccinations...are the flu vaccines dangerous? > > > > They contain thimerosal. > > > > > I never > > end up getting them and I'm so sick of people looking down on me for > > not getting one each year. > > > > > > Smart lady. > > The hepatitis B series is particularily hard on people. You have come up with an important point that I haven't found the answers to yet. Andy has probably written about this somewhere but I don't know where (possibly autism mercury archives). I think that a person can request thimerosal free vaccines and pay an extra cost. I believe thimerosal is being removed from some childhood vaccines but I don't know how far along that process is. The autism mercury parents (and Andy) would be more knowledgeable on this topic than I am. J > I am scared b/c I think my son (12 yrs old) is due for a booster of > some sort soon.
