Guest guest
I spent the day with Bill at the hospital yesterday and he was clearly feeling much better. He did well with the clear liquids, and although his pancreatic enzymes were still high, they were down from the day before. When I left last night he was about to order soup and mashed potatoes for dinner, and he'd had a roll and applesauce for lunch. I said goodbye to his family about 2:30 and to Bill around 4:00 p.m. I'm so glad that I went, I believe it was meant to be! I headed back to Chicago last night and stayed with a friend about an hour outside of the city. I'm getting ready to pack up and head to the airport to catch my 1:15 flight home. Becky just called and said that Bill called after the docs made rounds this morning and they are planning to release him today. She believes he is ordering a full, regular meal for breakfast. I hope that his discharge isn't processed until he's had time to eat and time to see if any pain arises as a result. If it's going to cause an issue, better to do it while he's still there! She said she would call if there was any change in plans, so if you all don't hear from me again by tonight, know that he is on his way home some time today.
