"She's been miserable. She had 10 surgeries in 2005 to keep her from going blind. Last year she had a kidney transplant. How sick was your husband?" Her daughter had received the pancreas. We met in the hall.He was dying.He really was dying, and now........ wow. The contrast is so extreme, the last year feels like a book I might have read in high school; just wisps; I can't hardly remember it. To think he might be discharged, today. Holy Cow!
