About 2am the anesthesiologist came and inserted a line for fluids. We *patiently* waited until 6:30a for an update. Actually, that's when the cafeteria opened. The liver is viable and being sent to OR. The surgical team would call for Lonnie when they were ready. At 9:15, the nurse started preping him for surgery, saying it would be about 15 minutes. I could see Lonnie's heart pounding! Finally, at 10:15, he was wheeled to OR. His parents and I were escorted to the surgical waiting room (very nice, but the way) and were immediately introduced to the Nurse Advocate, Rob. He will be making rounds every couple hours and will update us on Lonnie's progress. I'll keep you posted. Kathy btw, we were on the list for SIX days!!!
