Guest guest
Arne, I am sorry that i am answering only now. I guess we were all busy with the Urso high dose, issue. I always tend to get nuasea with cipro, specially on an empty stomach. And insomnia if with too much caffeine [mentioned in the drug info, too]. But interestingly, i did have some different symptoms when it was given to me with the IV, recently. It did increase my nuasea and vomiting but it also caused " fast heart beats " and " restlessness or anxiousness, all the time when in the IV. This happened post ERCP. I was the one who asked them to give me Cipro with the IV since i stayed one day without oral liquids and the 2nd on ice chips, only because the sedatives does make me real sick, afterwards. That was kind of scary and not a good experience. Subject: OT (sort of) - Cipro adverse reaction? To: Date: Thursday, June 19, 2008, 12:28 AM Has anyone ever had an adverse reaction to Cipro? I know the following are listed: Most frequent - nausea (2.5%), diarrhea (1.6%), liver function tests abnormal (1.3%), vomiting (1.0%), and rash (1.0%). Additional medically important events that occurred in less than 1%: headache, abdominal pain/discomfort, foot pain, pain, pain in extremities, injection site reaction (ciprofloxacin intravenous) Someone (very close to me) has experienced unremitting nausea, vomiting, accompanied by abdominal pain after two doses of oral Cipro. The local ER decided it was an adverse reaction. I've taken Cipro a couple of times with no symptoms. Just wondering (she's eating now) :-) Arne 57 - UC 1977 - PSC 2000 Alive and well in Minnesota
