Using this group forum to learn and discuss with doctor

This group is not only for support and well wishes, it

is to learn about things that worked or did not work

for others. I do believe it was Barb's post about an

article about the use of Zoloft (can't remember the

generic name) in a study that found that this med

helps alleviate pruitis in some patients.

My doctor was not up on this study, so I called and

mentioned it to my transplant coordinator, she relayed

it to him, he took time to investigate, and when I

called back a week later to ask if he had researched

it, he said yes, and let's give it a go.

I found itching relief in zoloft.....so, had I not

heard it here, I would have never brought up the topic

to my doctor.

I have since called him and let him know it did

improve my situation, so now he will offer this to

others that suffer from pruitis.

It was a win-win situation for me.
