Guest guest
I still have four amalgam fillings that won't be removed for several years (until I'm done having children). I would like to start taking Lugol's iodine for mild hypothroidism, but I can't figure out if it's safe to take while I still have mercury in my mouth. I searched the archives and read that it is not a chelator, but I keep reading that some things (like cilantro) that aren't chelators do displace mercury, or something like that, so I'm not sure if it's safe or not. Can someone clarify this for me, and also explain what exactly things like cilantro and NAC do to mecury in the body if they don't chelate it? Thanks
