Guest guest
and how many others got G-B syndrome from *any* immunizations? in 30 plus years, I worked with maybe a dozen G-B survivors, and only had cause to make the diagnosis *once.* To the best of my remembrance, none of those cases were related to immunizations- the 16 year old with an odd ascending paralysis (sent to a neurologist, and we made the diagnosis of G-B syndrome together) was afflicted in the spring, well after her last set of booster shots for school, and while she had suffered from mild upper respiratory symptoms a week or so prior, she had not had classic flu symptoms prior to the paralysis. Not saying that your case was not associated with an immunization, just that G-B itself is rare in any case. ck In a message dated 10/10/2009 09:47:35 Central Standard Time, richhenkel@... writes: The CDC will tell you it's rare to get gbs however I am proof that you do. Guest guest
interesting. When and where was this? and do you know if the hospital or neurology group reported the cluster to the CDC? ck In a message dated 10/10/2009 10:20:29 Central Standard Time, richhenkel@... writes: My neurologist told me " this is why neurologist don't get flu shots " . Don't know how true that is but I can tell you there where 2 others in the icu with me post vaccination with GBS. Needless to say I can not get a flu shot. Guest guest
ok, that's five cases just on this list. , do you know if your case was reported? ck In a message dated 10/10/2009 12:32:07 Central Standard Time, summedic@... writes: That is exactly why I do not get any flu shots. I contracted GBS in 2003, and on a ventilator for 10 days post a yearly vacination. I will never get another one. That is why I was wondering if there was any hard evidence to support that fact. Even one case is to many, in my opinion. Re: NEW YORK STATE – DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - INTEROFFICE MEMORAND... My neurologist told me " this is why neurologist don't get flu shots " .
