Guest guest
HI ML-Some people have all the luck with genetics! I know what you mean-that was me also. After I went off the Lipitior I stuck to a healthy diet and lost about 60 lbs in 1 1/2 years and kept it off and my chol is now 144 from 240. Before the 240 it was as high as 385- the doctor said it was a hormonal thing. Once I had my hysterectomy in 2003 it came back down to 240 ish. My brother has taken Crestor for about 3 years now with good results-not that I should be saying this but he cheats like crazy sometimes too! I too feel better when not eating carbs-even though our body does need some. I fill in with that BOOST drink sometimes when I don't feel like cooking. Good luck with Crestor-probably do well on it being genetics. Diane PF,PM,Raynauds,Sjorgrens 2006 PH 2008

Guest guest
Hi Diane: Thanks for your post. Interesting isn't it? My Father's ancestry never even knew what the word meant, they ate bacon, eggs, mush, scrapple (not scrabble)ha, and meat and potatoes and home made bread, home made butter, cream and everything else that led them to live to be in their early 100's. Amazing and really the genes count on my Dad's PA Dutch side. On my Mom's side, upstate NY, her family is French/English and they ate the same things my Dad and his siblings and parents did, but they were not as fortunate. All my Mom's siblings (5) died in their 40's, except for one of my Mom's aunt's who lived to be 83. Don't understand it. One of my Dad's Sisters, who passed away 1 1/2 years ago lived to be 103 1/2. No dementia, nothing, just was wheeled to the dining room in the nursing home for breakfast sitting with her friends there at the table, took a sip of coffee, put the cup down, and slumped her head down and she was gone, just like that. I was so glad she had her beloved coffee. She had always cooked everything home made and for lunch every day, she had 1/2 peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread, coffee, and 2, (yes 2) olives. hahahaha Then she would eat a huge piece of choc. cake. Go Figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU THIS DAY PERSISTENT FIGHTER AND A FIESTY ONE AT THAT. IPF - 02 MARY LOU > > HI ML-Some people have all the luck with genetics!
