Guest guest
Dave That is very interesting and dovetails with something my hep was telling me: They are doing a clinical trial using vancomycin to treat PSC in adults. Vancomycin was given to pediatric patients who had C. difficile present in their gut. These patients also had PSC. They administered high doses of vancomycin and their LFTs dropped like a stone. I can't recall if these patients also had IBD or not, but I can ask Dr. Pratt about it when I see him in July. The one thing I do recall him saying was the thought was that the bacteria had permeated the gut and been picked up by the liver where it caused the PSC to start.
