Guest guest
I recall reading -- not sure if it was Andy's book or someone's knowledgeable post -- that 2 Isocort = 5 mg cortisol. If that's true, and since Cortef is a source of cortisol, if one is taking Isocort, then they should NOT take Cortef at the same time. Right? Thanks, Bill
Guest guest
The manufacturer says it give the same biological " effect " of 2.5mg of cortisol per pellet. But the general consensus from those that have later switched over to Cortef, is that 15mg of Cortef has more effect than 8 pellets of Isocort (which would be the " effect " of 20mg according to the above conversion). In my experience using it, and reading what Cortef-users have said, I'm thinking that the " effect " is probably closer to half of what the manufacturer says. But I haven't used Cortef to personally compare. The manufacturer can't state that it contains cortisol, as that is a prescription drug. > I recall reading -- not sure if it was Andy's book or someone's knowledgeable post -- that 2 Isocort = 5 mg cortisol. If you were thinking of what I said, I meant that I take them kind of interchangeably -- I don't go over 20 mg total HC except for major stress situations. But I might substitute one 5 mg dose of Cortef with 2 Isocorts. I don't even know why I do this, I just end up using Isocort as my traveling HC to take when I'm doing errands or something.
