Guest guest
Pearl Ann has had what I thought was recall problems a couple of months ago so we scheduled an MRI but they went away so I canceled it. Well it seemed to be coming back the last few days and then last night I noticed a bruise on her lower right side. I asked her where she got it and she said she didn't remember. That made me nervous. Then she said she didn't feel good and wanted to be held. She ended up falling asleep early last night. My question is, should I be running to the phone or could it wait until Wednesday when we're in the office? She doesn't have a fever. Is one bruise of concern or would I be seeing multiple bruises if it were liver related? Thanks all! mom to Pearl, age 4, Crohns/PSC/AIH
Guest guest
, One unexplained bruise on a four year old does not sound a good reason to rush to the doctor, the bruise could have been caused by bumping into coffee table, but keep an eye on it, if its very large or expanding or multiplying then have a doctor check it out (mostly for your peace of mind). Ian PS the picture attached to you name in gmail, is that Pearl at a younger age?
Guest guest
Thanks for the response, Ian. She's not been feeling well lately so I've been on alert. I haven't called and probably won't. I figured it would be multiple bruises but I don't want to underreact, either, which is what I tend to do in most medical situations. The picture is of my fourth child, Nika, who is 8 months old now. That was taken a month ago. Nika is sick, too. She has a genetic disorder and I suspect she might have IBD. Just another thing to watch for now... mom to Pearl, Crohn's/PSC/AIH
