Guest guest
First, I need to thank all of you that responded to my " Losing it-Going nuts-I can't take this anymore post " ! It helped me get through it. I was in BAD shape & your advice and stories of healing helped me SOOOOO much. Good to know I'm not the only one who cries out of frustration! I realize now that most of my issues have to be coming from die-off. I cut out the yogurt & probiotics for now because they did make it all worse. I spent yesterday in bed which I never do. I was so tired and achey. My lower back is a huge problem for me right now. I read online that die-off symptoms usually are your achilles heal times 100. In other words, what ever ailed you before the cleanse, that's what most likely will act up as the bacteris die off. For me my bowels & my lower back have been an issue for years now so it's not surprising me that my lower back is in such distress now that I can't sleep through the night from the pain. I know that Motrin will have some illegal starches but I am considering taking 1 at night to sleep. I see from the archives that Elaine preferred Tylenol w/ codine (available OTC in Canada where she lived) but I'm American & that's not OTC here. Tylenol alone doesn't cut it. Is there a pain killer that is OK to take for back pain. I'm also drinking green tea, taking epson salt baths & using a heating pad to help. Thanks in advance for advice, Peggy H. Guest guest
Peg, I have had back pain for years and used to take Motrin a lot. Even though a lot of people have luck with heating pads-- I fall asleep on a large ice pack that I bought at the pharmacy that is big enough for backs. It numbs the pain and I fall asleep with it. I also have had luck with those Therma Care 8 hour back pads--you open them up and activate them, put them on like a band-aid and they produce warmth to the area for 6-8 hours. Finally, I also rub extra strength Ben-Gay on the area--smelly, but there is a salicylate in the prep--so it is like delivering aspirin to your muscles, but bypassing the gut. I also have had great luck with chiropractic and acupuncture for back pain. I really try hard not to take Motrin, as I know it has illegals, but recently hurt my rotator cuff and had no choice but to take it. When I took Vicodin, ( hydrocodone--a derivative of codeine plus tylenol) it screwed up my bowels worse than the motrin. Elaine always said to take the necessary meds--lack of sleep does lower your immune system-so do not feel guilty about helping yourself feel better. Feel better soon.
